The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Private Michael Glynn, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 13 July 1872, while serving with Company F, 5th U.S. Cavalry, in action at Whetstone Mountains, Arizona Territory. Private Glynn drove off, single-handed, eight hostile Indians, killing and wounding five.
