Middleton Stuart Elliott

The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Surgeon Middleton Stuart Elliott, United States Navy, for distinguished conduct in battle during the engagements of Vera Cruz, Mexico, 21 and 22 April 1914. Surgeon Elliott was eminent and conspicuous in the efficient establishment and operation of the Base Hospital, and in his cool judgment and courage in supervising first aid stations on the firing line and removing the wounded.
