The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Oscar Blaurock, Private First Class, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in action near Nesles, France, July 14, 1918. During a heavy shell and gas bombardment, Private Blaurock made repeated trips with messages to the various platoons, at the same time volunteering and assisting in the removal of the wounded to a place of safety.
