The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Theodore H. Sieloff, Corporal, U.S. Army, for extraordinary heroism in action at Verst 444, near Emtsa, Russia, November 4, 1918. during an enemy attack, when he was fired on from the rear, Corporal Sieloff moved his gun to an exposed position and delivered effective fire on the enemy. Although exposed to enemy fire from two directions, he held the enemy in check until his gun had become disabled, when he dismantled it, replaced the broken parts, and renewed his fire, repulsing a strong force of the enemy.
