Private Crabbe voluntarily left a sheltered position under intense enemy bombardment, dressed the wounds of four wounded men lying in a position exposed to intense enemy machine-gun fire, carried them one by one to a place of safety, and then went for a stretcher bearer to assist him in evacuating them.
