Thomas T. Henderson

2D LT THOMAS T HENDERSON, 02040880, 116th Inf, U S Army, for gal entry in action in Normandy, France. On 11 June 1944, when his unit was pinned down at the entrance to a town and was out of mortar ammunition, 2d Lt Henderson, with utter disregard for his own safety, picked up several “bundles of ammunition and carried them across a “bridge to the waiting mortar sections. He then climbed on top of a disabled tank which was under direct fire from a machine gun nest and by his fire direction accomplished the neutralization of this enemy position. The fearless actions of 2d Lt Henderson reflect great credit upon himself and the Military Service.
