    The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Sergeant Thomas Wilson Bradley, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 3 May 1863, while serving with Company H, 124th New York Infantry (American Guard), in action at Chancellorsville, Virginia. Sergeant Bradley volunteered in response to a call and alone, in the face of a heavy fire of musketry and canister, went and procured ammunition for the use of his comrades.
