  • Headquarters Company, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, in action against enemy forces on 9 November 1942, near Arcola, Algeria. When the advance of his battalion and an attached artillery battalion was stopped by enemy fire, First Lieutenant Brosokas volunteered along with another man to go forward in a half track vehicle. They destroyed two machine gun positions and proceeded through the town machine gunning all resistance encountered.
