    The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Sergeant William Henry Harrison Crosier, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 20 July 1864, while serving with Company G, 149th New York Infantry, in action at Peach Tree Creek, Georgia. Severely wounded and ambushed by the enemy, Sergeant Crosier stripped the colors from the staff and brought them back into the line.
