    The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Boatswain’s Mate Alexander McKenzie, United States Navy, for extraordinary heroism in action on board the U.S.S. Colorado during the capture of the Korean forts, 11 June 1871. Fighting at the side of Lieutenant McKee during this action, Boatswain’s Mate McKenzie was struck by a sword and received a severe cut in the head from the blow.
