Emile Bonnard
The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Emile Bonnard, Major, French Army, for extraordinary heroism in action near Meuse River, France, November 3 – 11, 1918. Working in conjunction with an American brigade Major Bonnard led his battalion against determined resistance of the enemy, working his way with great valor to take an important hostile position. He kept constantly in touch with the American commander, thus insuring perfect liaison during the entire operations.
