Xavier Buchet

The Distinguished Service Cross is presented to Xavier Buchet, Captain, French Army, for extraordinary heroism in action in the Argonne-Meuse operations, France, November 9 – 11, 1918. During three days of most terrific struggle and exposed to enemy artillery and machine-gun fire and the hazard of poisonous shells, Captain Bucket unceasingly urged and led his men to their objective. His example of courage, endurance, and valor served as a high standard for those under his command.
