The Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal is a military award of the United States Armed Forces which is typically awarded for participation in a U.S. military operation or theater of operations in which U.S. Armed Forces members serve in a designated area of responsibility during specified time periods. The medal is also awarded to members of the Armed Forces of friendly foreign nations serving with the U.S. Armed Forces in operations for which no other medal is authorized.
