China Service Medal

7 July 1937 to 7 Sept 1939 (Navy/Marine Corps) and
2 Sept 1945 to 1 Apr 1957 (Navy/Marines/Coast Guard)
The China Service Medal was established by the United States Navy on 20 July 1942 to recognize the service of personnel in support of the China Aid program during the Second Sino-Japanese War. The medal was first awarded to U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Coast Guard personnel who were attached to any of the vessels that operated in support of the operations in China between 7 July 1937, and 7 September 1939.
