The United Nations Korean Service Medal is a medal established by the United Nations on December 12, 1950, to recognize the service of military personnel, police, and civilian volunteers who assisted in the defense of South Korea during the Korean War. The medal was originally awarded to personnel from 16 nations who had served within the borders of South Korea or in waters immediately adjacent thereto between June 27, 1950, and July 27, 1953.
